The Dodgers Remain No.1 Favorites

Before the season, the Dodgers were seen as the first team that could win back-to-back titles in the last 20 years. They came into the season with the core of the championship roster intact. All of the key players returned including 3B Justin Turner who’s been in the excellent for at the start of the new season. He now has a .407 batting average in 59 at-bats. LA even strengthen its ranks with the offseason addition of Trevor Bauer. The NL Cy Young winner is probably the third-best pitcher on the roster behind Buehler and Kershaw. It just goes to show how strong the Dodgers are this season. If they continue this run of form, the odds may drop soon.

Yankees Off to a Slow Start

The Yankees came to the season with great expectations, but have struggled in the opening games. After a slow start, the odds on them to win the World Series have dropped. However, they should be able to turn things around. The Yankees still have the most talented roster in the AL. Their batting order which includes Aaron Judge, Giancarlo Stanton, and DJ LeMahieu among others is probably second to none in the whole MLB. Weirdly enough, it’s the hitting they struggled with the most this season. But this murderers’ row of hitters is a guarantee that the Yankees should improve sooner rather than later.

Can the Padres Challenge the Dodgers in the NL?

After being one of the most exciting teams last season, the Padres made some big moves in the offseason to become a true contender. The additions of Manny Machado and Fernando Tatis Jr solidified the batting order, especially the latter who is one of the most exciting players in the league. The new-look pitching rotation with Yu Darvish, Blake Snell, and Joe Musgrove is already proving to be the right investment. Musgrove has shut down Arizona on his debut and tossed the first no-hitter in Padres’ history. Last weekend, the thrilling three-game series vs the Dodgers proved that San Diego can hang with the champions. It seems that we’re seeing the beginning of a new rivalry.
