MLB Weekly Roundup- June 11

With well over a third of the MLB regular season in the books, we are starting to separate the contenders from the pretenders in both the American and National League. While a good deal of the preseason favorites have forged their way to the top of their respective division, there have been a couple of big surprises as well.
MLB Baseball Betting Predictions, Picks, Trends, Odds, & Lines – Colorado Rockies vs. Toronto Blue Jays
One of the biggest surprises in the AL East has been the resurgent Toronto Blues. Through Tuesday’s games they have a 5.5-game lead over New York and Baltimore with an overall record of 39-27. They have scored the second-most runs in the Majors and remain one of the best road teams in the league at 19-11.

The Detroit Tigers were heavy favorites to win the AL Central on BetAnySports’ preseason MLB futures board at -300. They do lead Cleveland by 2.5 games in the standings, but with an overall record of 33-27, they have also had their issues along the way. The Tigers have dropped their last two outings to fall to just 3-7 in their last 10 games, while the Indians have posted eight wins in their last 10 games.

The AL West is turning into a three-team race with Oakland leading the way at 39-26, which is the best record in the AL. The Los Angeles Angels continue to hang tough just 2.5 games back while riding a current five-game winning streak and Seattle remains in the race sitting 4.5 games out of the lead after going 8-2 in its last 10 games.

The Atlanta Braves and the Washington Nationals opened the season as even money co-favorites to win the NL East and so far this division race has followed suit with both teams boasting an overall record of 34-29. The big surprise in this race has been the Miami Marlins, who are just a half a game back at 34-30 after opening the season as +3000 longshots to win the East.

The upstart Milwaukee Brewers are still setting the pace in the NL Central with an overall record of 38-27 after opening the season as +1200 fourth-favorites to win this division, but St. Louis has recently made up some ground with a three-game winning streak that has cut the lead to four games. Pittsburgh is 7.5 games back and Cincinnati trails by eight games in this race.

The best team in the Majors so far when it comes to wins and losses has been the San Francisco Giants. Despite losing their last two games, they still have a solid 7.5-game lead over the Los Angeles Dodgers in the NL West at 42-23. The most impressive aspect of this record is the balance between a 22-11 mark at home and a 20-12 record on the road.
