Utah Jazz vs Memphis Grizzlies Game 4 Betting Picks, Predictions, Odds & Lines

On Monday night, The Grizzlies and the Jazz will square off for the fourth time in Round 1 of the NBA Playoffs. The Jazz currently leads the series 2-1. They defeated the Grizzlies on Friday in Memphis to regain home-court advantage. Their loss in Game 1 was their only one in the last 5 games. After finishing the regular season with the best record in the league, the Jazz now stand at 54-21 overall. They’re a bit less successful covering and their ATS record is 43-31-1. Memphis, who beat Golden State and San Antonio to get here, put up a good fight on Saturday, but eventually fell to second straight defeat. It was only their 5th loss in the last 15 games. The Grizzlies are now 41-36 SU and 43-33-1 ATS. Two teams met three times in the regular season. Utah won all three of those matchups.

Line Movement

The early odds favored the Jazz by 5.5, but since then, the line has moved to -5. The total has also moved slightly, from 223.5 to 225.

Notes on Utah Jazz

The last two games have shown just how much Donovan Mitchell means for this Utah team. After missing 16 games he returned in Game 2 and Utah’s offense came alive. Mitchell scored 54 points in the two games combined. Perhaps more importantly, his sheer gravity when on the court opened up a lot of space for his teammates. In games 2 and 3 Utah offense looked as good as in the regular season with constant ball movement and good spacing. This is giving them more decent looks from the deep. In Game 3, the Jazz hit 19 triples on 44% shooting. On Saturday, five Utah players scored 15 or more points. Still, some issues remained. The Jazz is still having problems containing Ja Morant and Dillon Brooks. Also, they allowed the Grizzlies to claw back from the first-half deficit and enter the final four minutes tied. Fortunately for Utah, Mitchell stepped up, leading his team with 10 points in the final quarter.

Coach Snyder has all players available for Monday’s game.

Notes on Memphis Grizzlies

The young Memphis team has already exceeded the expectations in the postseason. They are giving the best regular-season team a run for their money and have proven that they can hang with the Jazz. The Grizzlies have plenty of fight in them but their inexperience has cost them a chance to be at least one up over Utah. They had great stretches in both losses but struggled to create near the end of games. Their main problem is probably the lack of reliable scorers other than Morant and Brooks. Jaren Jackson Jr’ is still not at 100% while Valanciunas is struggling against Rudy Gobert. The Grizz, as every young team, often go through stretches where they lack concentration and make poor decisions. To have a chance in this series, they’ll have to limit their mistakes and find more points from role players.

Betting Pick: Utah -5

Utah is humming on offense right now. We can expect the Grizzlies to struggle to keep up with their ball movement. On the other end, the Jazz managed to limit Memphis’ three-point shooting and force Moran and Brooks into difficult shots. It has worked in the past two games and coach Snyder will again concentrate on containing the supporting cast. The Grizzlies are young, feisty, and fun to root for, but we see their inexperience costing them another game.
