Early MLB Division Series Betting Results
The opening games of the two ALDS and NLDS matchups are in the books. All four of these best-of-five series will be in action on Wednesday, Oct.7. One team is in a position to pull off the sweep. Two heavy favorites are looking to take a commanding 2-0 series lead. The most exciting division series moves to a pivotal Game 3.
The biggest surprise is the Houston Astros’ 2-0 series lead as underdogs against the AL West rival Oakland Athletics. They enter Wednesday’s Game 3 as slight even-money underdogs on SportsBetting.ag’s MLB betting board. However, Houston is a prohibitive -850 favorite to advance to the ALCS.

The Atlanta Braves are up 1-0 as heavy series favorites against the NL East rival Miami Marlins. The Braves are -210 favorites to double that series lead on Wednesday. The Marlins are +190 underdogs to even things up. The total for Game 3 is set at 8 ½ runs.
Out in the NL West, the favored Los Angeles Dodgers won Game 1 of their series against the San Diego Padres. The Dodgers closed as -165 favorites in the 5-1 victory. Betting lines for Wednesday’s Game 5 have LA favored at -195.
The action is moving fast in all four division series. At this point, going chalk on the Astros, Braves and Dodgers makes the best betting sense. Tampa Bay still offers quite a bit of value as an underdog.
Pitching has taken a backseat in the first two games with a total of 24 runs scored. This opens the door for betting the OVER on the total line in any remaining games. I also like the value in the Rays’ series price. Now is the time to place that bet in anticipation of a Game 2 victory. If Tampa Bay can get the 2-1 edge, it should be elevated to the role of favorite to win this series.
