We are well over 60 games into the 2015 MLB regular season and some unexpected teams continue to line the pockets of sports bettors on 5Dimes’ closing money line odds, especially when it comes to the American League.
The team at the top of that list through this past Tuesday night’s games is the Texas Rangers. They have worked their way to just 2.5 games out of first place in the AL West with a record of 35-30 and their current return on a money line bet is the best in the Majors at $1546. The Rangers have made all of their money on the road (+$1571) behind a record of 20-14.
The team leading the AL West has been an even bigger surprise. The Houston Astros have made their way to the top with a record of 38-28 and their money line return for bettor’s stands at +$984. The Astros have gone 18-11 as underdogs this season.
The other big surprise is in the AL Central where Kansas City and Minnesota fill the top two spots in that division race. The Royals have the slightly better overall record at 36-25 to hold a 3.5-game lead, but the Twins have been a slightly better team on the money line with a +$1086 return against Kansas City’s profitable return of +$959.
Tampa Bay (+$479) now holds a slight one-game lead over the New York Yankees (+$210) in the AL East with a record of 36-30.
The St. Louis Cardinals are clearly the cream of the crop in the National League with an overall return on the money line of +$1319. They lead Pittsburgh the NL Central by six games with a MLB-best record of 43-21 and their current winning streak stands a five games. The Cardinals have been especially profitable for the customers at the USA online Sportsbooks at home (+$1052) after going 26-7 in their first 33 home games.
San Francisco has the second-best money line return in the NL at +$469 on the strength of an 18-9 record as an underdog. The Giants currently trail the Los Angeles Dodgers by 2.5 games in the NL West Division race with an overall MLB baseball betting record of 35-31.
The NL East is basically a three-team race with the New York Mets holding a 1.5-game lead over Washington with Atlanta sitting 4.5 games off the pace. The only team in this division in the black on a money line bet is the Braves at +$258. Top
