Betting On Golf’s Next Major- 2020 US Open
Last week’s PGA Championship was one for the ages. It featured a crowded leaderboard on Sunday’s back nine. A game-changing tee shot helped break up that logjam. In the end, Colin Morikawa walked away with is first career victory in a Major.
This was just his second appearance in a Major at the tender age of 23. It also provided an excellent shot in the arm for the PGA Tour.
Where Can I Bet On Golf’s Next Major- 2020 US Open?
This was a great way to kickoff this season’s three-Major lineup. The Open Championship overseas was cancelled. However, the US Open is scheduled for Sept. 17-20 at Winged Foot Golf Club in New York. The annual Masters Tournament at Augusta National in early April was moved to Nov. 12-15.

Thoughts now turn to which players have the best chance to win golf’s toughest test. Early BetOnline betting odds have Brooks Koepka at the top of the US Open board at +1000.
He came into last week’s PGA Championship as a top favorite as well. After winning that Major last year, he was in contention to win heading into Sunday’s final round. A disappointing fade to 74 dropped him into a tie for 29th. His first three rounds all carded a 69 or lower.
Indeed, this would have been a three-peat. The 30-year old American won his first PGA Championship in 2018. You can also add back-to-back US Open titles in 2017 and 2018 to his impressive resume.
Second on the list at +1200 is a threesome of top players. Bryson DeChambeau joins Dustin Johnson and Rory McIlroy in that group. DeChambeau finished in a tie for fourth last week with a total score of 270. Johnson was one stroke better at 269 to tie for second.
McIlroy’s final round 68 was the best of four-day effort. It was enough to move him into a tie for 33rd.
Jon Rahm sits alone at +1400 as the fifth golfer on the SportsBetting.ag futures list to win this year’s US Open. He finished the PGA Championship tied for 13th. He fired a closing round 66 to keep things interesting following a slow start.
At the age of 25, he has drawn quite a bit of attention for his recent success. From Spain, he rose to No. 1 in golf’s world rankings this year. Rahm missed the cut in two consecutive US Open’s before last year’s tie for third. Still searching for his first career Major, he is definitely a value pick for this event.
Justin Thomas is next at +1600 ahead of another threesome of golfers at +2000. Thomas shot a four-round total of 279 to fade into a tie for 37th last week.
PGA Champ Morikawa joins Tiger Woods and Xander Schauffele in that next group. Winning back-to-back Majors is rather difficult to do, especially a grueling test like the US Open.
Woods got fans excited last Sunday with his final round 67 to tie for 37th. Zander was almost the man with a final round 67. He ended in a tie for 10th.
