MLB Weekly Roundup- April 23

MLB Baseball Betting Predictions, Picks, Trends, Odds, & Lines Washington Nationals vs. Milwaukee Brewers
We are just three full weeks into a new MLB season and the action has been fast and furious with stellar pitching, big hits and one bench-clearing brawl that already has a few players serving a multiple-game suspension.

As far as the six individual division races, the largest lead after the first 20 games or so is in the NL Central with the surprising Milwaukee Brewers holding a three-game lead over favored St. Louis on the strength of a 15-6 record through Tuesday night’s games. The Brewers just so happened to be one of the teams involved in the brawl that broke-out this past Sunday against rival Pittsburgh. All told, four players received suspensions including Milwaukee outfielder Carlos Gomez and catcher Martin Maldonado.

Big Series This Week

The big series this week is the second meeting this season between the New York Yankees and the Boston Red Sox. The Yankees have already taken 3-of-4 from their AL East rivals earlier this month in their home ball park and they hammered Boston 9-3 as slight +110 road underdogs on BetAnySports’ closing betting odds for Game 1. The three-game series resumes this Wednesday night with the Red Sox listed as slight -117 favorites. New York leads the AL East by a game with an overall record of 12-8, while the defending champs have stumbled out of the gate to a 9-12 mark in their first 21 games.

The Atlanta Braves

The Atlanta Braves are picking-up where they left off in the NL East title race with a 13-7 start that has them 2.5 games ahead of Washington (11-10) in the standings. The Braves have split the first two games of a three-game set at home against Miami this week with a 1-0 loss on Tuesday as 129 home favorites, but they already have a huge edge over the Nationals in head-to-head play with a 5-1 record in the first six games between the two.

The remaining three divisions all remain extremely tight starting in the NL West with the heavily favored Los Angeles Dodgers (12-9) up by a half game over Colorado (12-10). San Francisco is just one game back at 11-10. The final two divisions in the AL have Detroit (10-7) leading Kansas City (10-9) by a game in the AL Central and Oakland (13-7) in front of Texas (13-8) by a half game in the AL West.
