As the 2015 MLB regular season enters its final month, the playoff picture in both the American and National League is coming into focus. While no team has yet to actually clinch one of the five postseason spots in either league, it is becoming pretty clear as to which ones are likely to compete for a pennant this fall as well as one of two berths in this year’s World Series.
Top Bet has recently updated its MLB betting futures to win both the AL and NL title as well as the 2015 World Series. The Toronto Blues Jays have made their way to the top of the list as +200 favorites to win the AL Pennant and their odds to win the World Series are now set at +400, which is also at the top of the list. Through Tuesday’s action they have a 1.5-game lead over New York in the AL East with an overall record of 75-57. Their 8-2 record over the last 10 games has increased their moneyline return on the year to +$395.
The second-favorite to win the AL Pennant is the Kansas City Royals at +275. They have the best record in the AL at 80-51 and after going 7-3 in their last 10 outings, the Royals’ MLB-best moneyline return now stands at +$2409. Kansas City’s odds to go on and win the World Series are set at +550, which is second on the list.
The red-hot New York Mets are now the favorites to win the NL Pennant at +225 and their odds to win a world title are listed at +600, which is tied for third-best. The Mets have forged a 6.5-game lead in the NL East Division race behind a record of 73-59. They have now gone 7-3 in their last 10 games to boost their moneyline return on the year to +$172.
The St. Louis Cardinals have been the top betting team in the NL all season long with a healthy +$1903 return on the moneyline and they still have the best record in the Majors at 86-46. The Cardinals’ online MLB betting odds to win the NL are set at +275 and they are also listed at +600 to win the World Series.
Some of the other top contenders to win this season’s MLB title start with the Los Angeles Dodgers at +900. The betting odds for the New York Yankees, Houston Astros, San Francisco Giants, Pittsburgh Pirates and the Chicago Cubs are all set at +1200.
