The Rangers Battle The Angels

The Texas Rangers and The Los Angeles Angels will face on Sunday, 22nd June at 8.00 pm ET at the Angels Stadium of Anaheim at Anaheim, California.

While The Los Angeles Angels have done really well after the last year’s performance with 40-33, 22-14 home record, The Texas Rangers have gone down with 35-39,19-20 on the road. The Los Angeles Angels have been standing second in the AL West after Oakland Athletics (47-28), but The Texas Rangers have sunk down to fourth position after the Seattle Mariners (39-36). The Angels did well in their series on Friday with a 7-3 victory over The Texas Rangers sweeping them with another 3-2 victory on Saturday.

The Starting pitcher for The Texas Rangers will be Yu Darvish while the Angels bring rookie Matt Shoemaker to counter Darvish in Sunday’s game. Despite The Rangers having a bad season, Darvish has been in good shape right from the start. With (7-3,2.39 ERA), Darvish has started well winning initial four straight starts in a row, winning five of the six outings before loosing his last one against The Oakland Athletics even in which he succeeded to strikeout eight. Darvish has had an excellent record against The Los Angeles Angels with 7-1 and a 3.82 ERA in 11 starts. With his season best victory run halted by the last defeat,

Darvish would definitely be looking to make a come back against the Angels on Sunday. With the Rangers performing badly throughout the season, Darvish seems like their only hope. Rookie Matt Shoemaker (27) has been at the peek of his performance this season with six starts unbeaten, four of which had been won. He’s climbed up with 4-0,2.97 ERA in seven career starts. While this is the first time Shoemaker’s facing the Rangers he would surely be wishing to bring in the same magic of his last performance against the Cleveland Indians in Sunday’s game as well.

A good game on Sunday would mean a place for Shoemaker in the permanent rotation. Both Darvish and Shoemaker are right handed pitchers. For the season, The Los Angeles has been 23-21 against right handed pitching while the Rangers are 26-28.You might miss seeing Albert Pujols as lower back pain has jeopardized his play in the Angels on Sunday. The Texas Rangers is looking forward to winning the Sunday’s game to avoid a complete whitewash in the season. Darvish would also be looking to jump back with his sixth consistent win at Los Angeles. So while the Rangers would play to save their pride, the Angels would play to wash off the rangers. So don’t forget to catch the game this Sunday.
