MLB Weekly Betting Roundup – Oct. 8

MLB Weekly Betting Roundup - Oct. 8
If you love to wager on MLB games, the start of this season’s playoffs have been a golden opportunity to bet on the underdogs. In just a week’s worth of action starting with the one-game Wild Card round and then in each of the four best-of-five division series there have been major upsets across the board.

The two ALDS series ended in three-game sweeps with Baltimore ousting Detroit and upstart Kansas City making short-work on the Los Angeles Angels, who were BetOnline’s odds-on favorite to win the World Series this year.

These two underdogs will now meet in this season’s ALCS for a trip to the 2014 World Series with the Orioles listed as slight -140 favorites on BetOnline’s series price. The MLB betting odds on the Royals winning this best-of-seven affair have been set at +120. Game 1 is slated for this Friday at Camden Yards with an 8:07 p.m. (ET) start. It looks like Kansas City will go with James Shields as its starter, while Baltimore is still undecided as to which pitcher will be on the mound for the series opener.

The two NLDS series took one extra game to complete, but in the end the underdogs prevailed as well. St. Louis knocked-off Los Angeles in four games with a tight 3-2 victory over the Dodgers in Tuesday night’s Game 4 as a +151 home underdog on BetOnline’s closing betting odds. The Dodgers came into that game as -156 favorites with staff ace Clayton Kershaw on the mound, but that was not enough to try and force a Game 5 back in Los Angeles.

Washington began these playoffs as the favorite to win the NL Pennant, but it will be San Francisco facing the Cardinals for another shot at winning a World Series title. The Giants swept the Nationals in the first two games on the road and after losing Game 3 at home, they were able to end this series on Tuesday night with a 3-2 victory as +135 underdogs. The visiting Nationals proved costly to bet on as -140 road favorites. Check out Bet On World Series With Best USA Sportsbook and the Best USA Sportsbook For The 2014 MLB Playoffs.

Game 1 of the best-of-seven NLCS between San Francisco and St. Louis is set to get underway this upcoming Saturday night MLB Sportsbook betting action at Busch Stadium. The Giants will probably turn to Madison Bumgarner as their starter for the series opener if he is ready to go and look for the Cardinals to start things off with Adam Wainwright on the mound. Top
