The Los Angeles Angels were the hottest team in the Majors heading into last week’s break with an 11-3 record in their previous 14 games and they have not skipped a beat through Tuesday night’s results with a perfect 5-0 start that includes a four-game sweep of Boston at home over the weekend. The Angels blanked the Minnesota Twins 7-0 as -122 home favorites in Game 1 of this week’s three-game clash to improve to 53-40 on the year and to +$602 on GTBETS money line. Both Texas (+$892) and Houston (+$707) have better overall returns in the AL Central, but Los Angeles is now in control of that division with a two-game lead.

The top two money line returns in the Majors belong to two teams in the AL Central. Despite losing their last three games, the surprising Twins at 50-43 still have the second-best return at +$1567. The team leading the way in that division with the best record in the American League at 56-36 is the Kansas City Royals. They have won four of six since to break to raise their money line return to +$1874. They have easily been the most balanced team to bet on as well with a +$996 return at home and a +$878 return on the road.

The New York Yankees have the best return in the crowded AL East Division race at +$521. Tuesday’s 3-2 win as -118 home favorites in Game 1 of this week’s crucial three-game MLB baseball betting showdown against Baltimore has them 4.5 games up in the standings at 51-41.

For the most part, betting on the National League has been a losing proposition this season. Only five of the 15 teams are in the black with three of them residing in the NL Central. St. Louis continues to lead the way with a +$1234 return behind a MLB-best record of 59-54. Both Pittsburgh (54-39) and Chicago (50-42) remain within striking distance. The Pirates are +$345 on 5Dimes’s online Sportsbooks money line and the Cubs are +$289.

The other two NL teams with a positive return are the Atlanta Braves (+$452) in the NL East and the San Francisco Giants (+464) in the NL West. Top
