MLB Betting – Weekly Roundup – Sept. 3

MLB Betting - Weekly Roundup - Sept. 3The final month of the MLB regular season got underway this week and the push for the postseason is continues in full force for a number of teams. A few of the division races appear to be well in hand, but the battle rages on in the others as well as in the wildcard race for both the American and National League.

It is pretty much a given that Baltimore (80-57) is going to win the AL East with a 9.5-game lead over New York (70-66) heading into Wednesday’s games. BetAnySports has the Orioles listed as +450 fourth favorites to win the AL Pennant and their MLB betting odds to go on and win the World Series are +950.

The second largest division lead is in the NL East where Washington is currently seven games in front of Atlanta. The Nationals have the best record in the NL at 78-59 and their current odds to win the pennant are +275. They are +625 fourth-favorites to win a MLB world title this year.

The Los Angeles Angels continue to tear things up in the AL West with a 7-3 record in their last 10 outings that has opened-up a 4.5-game lead over Oakland. The Angels (83-54) are now favored to win the AL at +315 betting odds and they are +530 second-favorites to win the World Series.

It could very well be an All-Los Angeles World Series this season with the Dodgers sitting two games ahead of San Francisco in the NL West at 78-61. They have been favored to win it all almost the entire season and their current odds to win the World Series stand at +475. The Dodgers odds to win the NL Pennant top that list at +180.

The other two divisions are just too close to call with Kansas City (76-61) a half-game up on Detroit (76-62) in the AL Central and St. Louis (75-63) taking the lead over the slumping Milwaukee Brewers (73-65), who have now lost their last seven games.

The BetAnySports MLB Sportsbook futures odds for a few of these contenders start with Detroit as a +385 third-favorite to win the AL behind Oakland at +330. The Tigers odds to win the World Series stand at +625, while the Athletics are listed as +600 third-favorites.

Over in the NL, the Cardinals odds to win the pennant are +600 followed by the Brewers at +725. San Francisco is next on that list at +750.
