MLB Betting Weekly Recap - August 27
The regular MLB betting season closes-out the month of August and while a few teams are still holding a comfortable lead in their division title race, the other three divisions remain completely up for grabs. The wildcard race for the playoffs is even wilder with almost half the teams in the league still in contention for a spot.

Washington (75-56) has the largest lead in any division race with a 7.5-game cushion over Atlanta in the NL East through Tuesday’s games, but a recent 10-game winning streak has given way to a 2-3 record in its last five games. The Braves (68-64) have not done themselves any favors with three-straight losses.

Over in the AL East, Baltimore (75-55) is seven games ahead of New York in that race after the Yankees’ 5-2 loss to Detroit on Tuesday night as -107 road underdogs snapped a recent five-game winning streak. BetAnySports has opened New York (68-62) as a +165 road underdog for Wednesday’s game against the Tigers on its MLB betting odds.

The division races get skin-tight from there starting in the AL Central where Kansas City (73-58) holds a game and half lead over Detroit. Each team has gone 6-4 in their last 10 outings and the Tigers (71-59) will bring a three-game winning streak into Wednesday’s matchup against the Yankees.

Milwaukee’s lead over St. Louis in the NL Central also stands at a game and a half with each team winning six of their last 10 contests. The Brewers (73-59) will face San Diego on Wednesday as -138 MLB Sportsbook road favorites while the Cardinals (71-60) will square-off against division rival Pittsburgh as -132 favorites on the road.
